How to Apply
Step 1
The first thing you should do is read the grant making section carefully and check that your organisation and the work that you do
fits into our grant making criteria. If you feel that it does, please see below.
Step 2
Please submit an online application via the link below. Please ensure that you have read the accompanying guidance
notes before completing the online application form. Please note that you are able to save a partially completed form and finish it
later if required.

You must also send to us by post your most recent statutory report and accounts. If your organisation is not
required to produce full accounts, you must include a summary of your financial
position. Please send the accounts to the relevant grants officer at the following
address:
The Mercers' Company
Mercers' Hall
Ironmonger Lane
London, EC2V 8HE
We will not be able to assess your application until your financial information has been
received.
If you are unable to make an online application, please send written details of your planned work and funding needs on no more than two sides of A4 paper to the address above, enclosing your most recent statutory report and accounts.
Application Process
All applications are acknowledged within seven working days and are reported
first to the relevant committee and then to the Court of Assistants. Applicants
should note that the Charity Committee (General Welfare programmes) normally meets every eight weeks, and the Church, Education and Heritage and Arts Committees every twelve weeks. The ratification process may take up to a further
four weeks from the committee date. You will only receive a final decision after that has happened.
All information for an application needs to be available by a minimum of four
weeks before a meeting date. You are advised to apply in good time if an early
decision would be helpful to you, for example, if you are requesting items needed
in the Summer.
